2025 Genesis GV80

The luxury midsize SUV segment is where the 2025 Genesis GV80 is making its mark. With stylish looks, cutting-edge technology, and an experience that blends comfort and performance, the GV80 is ready to take on and compete with rivals like the BMW X5, the Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the Audi Q7. As the flagship SUV for Genesis, the GV80 is the best representation of the brand’s quality and innovation.

Overview – 2025 Genesis GV80

The 2025 Genesis GV80 builds on the success of its predecessor and enhances the driving experience in the growing luxury SUV segment. It is refreshed with exterior styling that is eye-catching yet understated—just what you want for a luxury vehicle. There is a brilliant new light signature from the four LED headlights, which look sharp during the day and even better at night. The GV80’s grille is big enough to assert its presence yet small enough not to offend.

Interior Luxury interior of the SUV is roomy and decorated with top-notch materials. This starts with the leather and wood we encountered in our test vehicle that was used to “trim” the GV80’s cabin.

Simplicity and elegance defined the dashboard, where a single 27-inch OLED widescreen display held court, seamlessly integrating the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The GV80’s latest infotainment suite was accessed via this screen, which also brilliantly presented our test vehicle’s numerous driver assistance features. To the left of this screen, the Bang & Olufsen audio system emitted some of the best sounds we’ve ever experienced in any vehicle.

Performance and Engine Options

The 2025 Genesis GV80 has a selection of powertrains intended to satisfy a range of driving inclinations. The 2.5L Turbocharged I4 makes 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. It offers a blend of efficiency and performance that satisfies the two most crucial motorist demands. The 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 in the GV80 produces 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. This engine unleashes robust acceleration guaranteed to pin occupants back in their seats. This powerplant enables dynamic driving that rivals many sport sedans. The Twin-Turbo V6 with 48V E-Boost (Coupe Variant) makes 409 hp and, of course, more torque guarantees even better performance “coupe-like” than the standard GV80. Lastly, all engine options are mated to an 8-speed automatic, and the GV80 has either RWD or AWD.

Pricing

The Genesis GV80 for 2025 offers several trim levels that suit a variety of tastes and budgets. Of the several models, the least expensive is the Standard 2.5T, with a starting price of approximately $59,050. The Standard model is anything but standard; however, with an impressive assortment of features. Theater-level video entertainment is provided by a 27-inch OLED display. (“OLED” stands for “organic light-emitting diode”; such screens are known for superior picture quality and for being lighter and thinner than even the “QLED” displays that are now fairly common.) The interior is filled with high-quality materials, and the GV80’s suite of safety features is well beyond what most automakers would call “impressive.”

Features and Innovations

The 2025 GV80 brings some truly innovative elements into the luxury SUV class. “Smart Posture Care” analyzes the driver’s physique to recommend how the driver should optimally position themselves in the seat to avoid fatigue and enjoy the ride—a great feature, especially when the driver has to “work” on the road for a long stretch. “Remote Smart Parking Assist” enables the driver to guide the car into a tight parking spot from outside the vehicle. Did you have a scaling issue with the garage? Not anymore.

Safety and Driver Assistance

At Genesis, safety remains their utmost priority, and the 2025 GV80 comes equipped with innovative safety features. Among them is a Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, which assesses potential collisions and brakes for you—if that’s possible. The system won’t intervene if it computes you might have a valid reason for making a sudden move. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is pretty much what you’d expect. It’s a system that actively watches the areas on either side of your vehicle that you can’t see. And, our favorite, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist is like having a co-pilot that’s great at being aware of everything that’s happening behind you.

Final thoughts

Certainly. The 2025 Genesis GV80 excels. It stands out in the luxury SUV segment and offers what seems like a perfect balance of style, performance, and tech. If you are coming from an older SUV or this is your first dip into the luxury SUV market, you should consider the GV80.
